MEET AMY (she/her/hers)
Many people struggle to cope with everyday issues related to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, growing up in dysfunctional homes, trauma/abuse, grief, self-esteem, self-worth, and more. I work with individuals and families using talk therapy to promote optimum mental and emotional health related to these issues.
I have experience working with many populations including adolescent and adult clients struggling with substance abuse and mental health. I work with clients to help uncover underlying beliefs about themselves and the world around them to better equip them with the skills to overcome adversity and challenges.
I utilize an integrated model of CBT, REBT, and DBT with a specific focus on trauma and PTSD to assist clients to better understand their issues and develop the skills to overcome them. I believe that mental health issues are more prevalent than we know and are willing to talk about and I work diligently to break the stigma of seeking professional help.
I use a strength-based approach to help clients enhance the skills they already have and to build upon their support system and encourage they take an active role in their treatment and recovery. We work together to set and reach their goals. When needed, clients will be connected to community resources to build a stronger foundation for overall wellness.
