When you experience trauma, your mind and body team up to respond and keep you safe - but sometimes they struggle to effectively sync up again later. Trauma and emotions get stored in your muscles, nerves, and tissues popping up as physical sensations and symptoms that sometimes don’t make sense. These experiences can place strain on you, your relationships, and your life!
Yoga is a powerful practice that can help you heal from trauma. Yoga facilitates a deeper connection with the body allowing you to become aware of physical sensations, release stored emotions, and heal from traumatic experiences. Yoga also incorporates mindfulness which helps you learn to recognize and regulate emotions without getting overwhelmed.
